About Rocktober (AKA Teen Jam)

Rocktober (formerly Teen Jam) started in 2000 when a small number of cities in the southeast area coordinated an event for Jr. High youth that involved competitive games and contests mixed together with pizza and raffle prizes. Each City donated what they could to the event so as no one city would be burdened with the cost. The first year around 100 participants enjoyed tricycle races and egg splatting contests.

Since that time Rocktober has grown to be an annual event for the Coalition of Cities on Teen Programming. The event has grown in both attendance and number of cities involved. In 2011 Pacific Park at the Santa Monica Pier hosted the event in a night of fun and events that included: DJ Music and dance; Large screen videos, Glitter tatoos, hair painting booth, pizza hut, Just Dance Competition, many free give aways and SO MUCH MORE for nearly 900 participants! It was the largest event to date!

2012 is Rocktober's 12th Anniversary! We're planning a spectacular event that you and your teens won't want to miss! Stay tuned for event location, date, and detials! If you are interested in joining the planning committee or getting involved, e-mail at info@socalteencoalition.org.

Become a Rocktober Sponsor!
The Southern California Teen Coalition is seeking agencies and businesses that would like to sponsor the 10^th Annual “Rocktober,” our annual special event for teens in the 6^th – 12^th grades. The event will be held on Friday, October 15^th from 6:00 – 10:00pm at Boomers in Fountain Valley,CA. This annual event attracts over 40 participating teen agencies from Santa Barbara to San Diego, making this event the biggest community teen social in California. An estimated 1,000 participants will be in attendance at this year’s fun-filled event consisting of live teen bands, game tournaments, inflatable games and attractions, festival inspired entertainment, a DJ Dance, community vendors, food and so much more! “Rocktober” gives our teens an opportunity to have a night on the town in a safe and fun environment, as well as increases awareness of your company and all that it has to offer.
Special Events such as this one invites media attention and excites public interest. As a sponsor of an event of this magnitude you will have a great opportunity to promote and expose your company to a community filled with your target demographic. I would like to extend an invitation for you to consider being an official sponsor for “Rocktober.” As a sponsor, your business logo will be placed on all promotional advertisements, such as the event program, event website (socalteencoalition.org), PSA’s throughout the event and on-site signage, thus giving you an opportunity to develop advertising for your business/organization and advertise your product with in-kind donations or monetary support for the event.
