Great Opportunity for Youth to be a Voice to Legislators! Through an invitation from the California Senate Education Committee, CASC is being asked to relay student
perspectives on education issues to key legislators in our state. The Student Advisory Board on Legislation in Education will convene in Sacramento from Feb 22-24, 2010. Students will present recommendations for improving
our schools to the Senate Education Committee. With massive budget cuts continuing, this conversation is more important than
ever.
We know there isn't much time, but in the face of our state's financial crisis we are asking you to nominate
one or more students from your youth council/commission to participate. Through your representatives, your youth council will
have the unique opportunity to be in direct conversation with members of the state legislature and the most influential figures
shaping education policy in our state.
Act now - click here to download the registration form for the student(s) you are choosing to nominate. Spaces are extremely limited. Please don't pass
up this chance for your council and area to be represented.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call
(510.834.2272) or email (cascmail@aol.com) the CASC office.
Thank you,
June E. Thompson, Ph.D.
